Rosé, the pink drink perfect for spring and summer (or anytime, for that matter). Though recently enjoying a surge of millenial popularity, rosé is meant to be enjoyed by anyone and everyone. I mean, who doesn’t want to picture themselves on a warm afternoon, casually sipping a crisp rosé among friends, nibbling on some well paired cheeses, while bathing in mild sunshine. Doesn’t sound too bad, huh?
Because this sounded so good to us, and because we love rosé, the girl & the fig is now offering a rosé wine flight for our guests! 3 tastes of subtle and sophisticated rosés, each with their own unique styles and varietals. Wine #1 - 2018 the girl & the fig Rosé, Mendocino County
60% Carignan, 40% Grenache. A well balanced wine with a viscous texture and maintained freshness. Notes of grapefruit, florals, and candied citrus on the nose. The palate is rich and lush, with an uplifting acidity that leads to a bright finish, leaving notes of stone fruits.
Wine #2 - 2017 Malene Rosé, Santa Barbara County
This is a blend of four red grapes & one white (Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvedre and Vermentino). With plenty of fruit intensity and a clean, long acid driven finish this wine has copious honeydew & strawberry aromatics. Lily whites & savory rosemary dance across your nose.
Wine #3- 2017 Yves Cuilleron “Les Masques” Bouches du Rhône, France
100% Syrah grown in the South of France on the northern rim of the Mediterranean
Sea brings the freshness of citrus & the sweet berry flavors of blackberries & gooseberries. The finish provides exotic fruits such as lychee, passion fruit & banana.
